• Our School Savers club

  Cardiff and Vale Credit Union will be coming to our School on Friday 22nd September at 9.am.to present and promote our school savers club, all parents/carers welcome. The purpose of our school savers club is to establish and encourage children to learn to save with the aims of:

  • enhancing children's maths skills
  • educating children on the benefits of saving
  • offering an accessible,familiar and safe environment to save regularly
  • providing training in administration and customer services for our volunteers who run the clubs
  • helping children to budget and avoid debt problems in adult life
  • offering a service that will support children to continue saving in adult life

• Level 1 Child Psychology

  There is a level 1 "Child Psychology" course starting Monday 18th September 9.30-11.30. All parents welcome. The course is free and there are no specific qualifications needed apart from basic reading skills, the course will run until next term. If interested please speak to Mr Ellery.

• ANNUAL WRESTLING EVENT

  WRESTLING IS BACK!!!
  Back by popular demand our famous “Wrestling Night” is taking place here at Glan-yr-Afon on Thursday 22nd June at 6.00 p.m. Tickets are priced at £7 each or £23 for a family of four.  For more information please contact Mr Ellery who will be on the gate before and after school.

  Today is the last day of term, school will recommence Monday 5th June.  We look forward to seeing you all then - have a great half term break!!!

• INSET DAY

  There will be an Inset Day for the whole school on Monday 24th April for the whole school.  Summer term will recommence Tuesday 25th April.  We look forward to seeing you all then - have a cracking Easter!!!

  This is a free event, we do ask that Infant children pay 50p to their class teacher this will include a biscuit & a drink.  For Junior children refreshments will be on sale, we recommend no more than £2 spending money.

• Attendance Matters

  If your child misses school they will miss out on learning important things. They will fall behind their peers , miss out on important things the teacher has said. Did you know? if your child is absent for 2 days in a month that will equal 10% of their monthly attendance total. If you are worried about your child's attendance please speak to your child's teacher, Miss may (Deputy Head) or the school's family engagement officer Mr Ellery.
