Welcome to Dosbarth Caerfilli Summer 2!
Our theme for this half term (June 7th) is
Splash into Summer!
We will be looking at all types of creatures from Under the Sea. We will be sharing stories such as the Rainbow Fish, Commotion in the Ocean and Rockpool Rap.
We will be looking at holidays past and present and where places are and what features they have. We are even going to bring the Seaside to Glan Yr Afon! It's going to be a fun few weeks!
Don't forget that PE is every Wednesday and that you can come to school dressed in your kit.
Bookbags need to be returned to school every day and don't forget your Keywords!
Hello Everyone and Welcome to Dosbarth Caerfilli class page!
Class Teacher – Mon-Thursday – Mrs Williams Friday Miss Saville.
Teaching Assistants, Mrs Nazemi and Mrs Hubbard.
Our Learning Context for Summer is called-
Down in the Garden
We will be looking at a range of activities linked to the garden. We will be growing flowers and vegetables. We will also be looking at all the creatures that you may find in a garden from frogs to bees and ladybirds.
We will be learning about the story of 'Jack and The Beanstalk' and growing our own.
At the moment with the Global Pandemic there will be some difference inside our class. All staff will be wearing a visor similar to the one in the photo. This is to help keep us all safe.
Our start time will be 8.40 and we will finish at 2.40
We will use the door from the car park that is to the right of the flagpole as you come into the school site. One of us will be there to greet you to show you the way in. Parents will not be allowed to enter the building for Health and Safety reasons.
Important Days to remember-
PE day – Wednesday – On this day the children can come dressed in their PE kit. We are hoping to have lots of our PE sessions outside so please ensure that the children are suitably dressed. We will let you know when we will be starting PE sessions.
Reading – Each of the children have been given on online Login for Collins ebooks.
Each week your child will be allocated books to support their reading development. It is important that they access these books regularly.
Homework and Spellings will be sent home on a Friday and the children will need to learn these Keyword spellings by the following Friday. It is really important that the children practice these words. One of the best methods for this is the ‘Look, cover, write, check’ method. The children look at the word then it is hidden and then they try to remember the letters that make up these words and they write them. They then check what they have written.
