Croeso i Ysgol Gynradd Glan-yr-Afon

Dear parents and carers,

Thank you for visiting our school website.

On behalf of the children, parents, staff and governors, I am delighted to introduce you to our school.

I would like to introduce myself and take this opportunity to say a little more about our school. My name is Mrs Rhian Lundrigan and I started at the school in January 2020. I have been a headteacher at Bryn Hafod Primary School for four years. Glan yr Afon Primary School is the partner school of our neighbour, Bryn Hafod Primary School  and together the schools form the Rainbow Federation. The children chose the name The two schools legally federated on February 24th 2020.

I am the Executive Headteacher of The Rainbow Federation and I share my time overseeing both schools. Each school has a member of staff who has the role of Head of School. In Glan yr Afon Primary School, the Head of School is Graham Matthews.

Mr Josh Jones is the Chair of The Rainbow Federation Governing Body and is supported by a group of committed, well qualified governors. They meet 6 times a year in order to support the management and statutory duties of the school. They can be contacted via the school office.

We have an open door policy at the school. Please feel free to make an appointment to see me or to pop in to see me if you have any concerns or questions – my door is always open.

We hope that you will enjoy being a part of our school family. If you would like further information or a visit to the school, please ask. I look forward to getting to know you and your family.

We are a busy but friendly school, with lots going on. This website aims to give you a taster of the school, as well as providing regular updated information for both parents and pupils.

Thank you for visiting!
